"Metamorphosis” is the theme for the Teen Summer Reading Program, and “Transform Yourself” is the slogan.

Anyone 13-18 who registers for the program beginning June 16 will receive a ticket for each book read. At each event throughout the summer, tickets will be drawn and prizes awarded.

Events at Asheboro, being finalized at press time, likely will include:

• Bug-iami with Irene Smith (make origami butterflies and dragonflies);

• Bug-alicious movie night featuring Spiderman, with bug-alicious foods and popcorn;

• Butterfly garden field trip to the home of a local resident who cultivates the insects;

• N.C. Zoo field trip finale, with picnic.
